Who are we?

Book Lovers Bookshop is the first brick-and-mortar Romance Fiction bookshop in the United Kingdom. Founded in 2024, we are a Queer and Disabled-owned space that focuses on celebrating romance fiction.

Our Story…

Book Lovers Bookshop was created by Caden Armstrong—an American who first went to university in Paris, France, before moving to Scotland, where she graduated with a master’s degree in Publishing.

Using her experience as a book blogger and indie author, Caden aims to create a fun and safe space for the romance community.

Scotland's Independent Bookshop of 2026

In March 2026, we were honoured to have been named Scotland's Indie Bookshop of 2026!

In May 2026 we were named the UK's Indie Bookshop of the Year at the British Book Awards!

Where are we located?

You can visit us in-person at 6 Melville Terrace, Edinburgh UK, EH9 1ND

What genres do we stock?

We stock all romance sub-genres including: contemporary romance, sports romance, historical romance, paranormal romance, romantasy, dark romance, special editions, graphic novels, non-fiction and teen/young adult romance.

Is our shop accessible?

Our main shop floor is wheelchair accessible. We have two front doors and both can be opened for accessible entry.

Generative AI?

There is no Generative AI used in any of our marketing, social media, website, or in our bookshop. To the best of our knowledge, we do not stock AI books and aim to work against AI's entry into books and the publishing industry.

As a business that celebrates art and creative media, we stand against the use of Generative AI in publishing.
